What are the roles & responsibilities of the Academy Team?

 

The Academy Team works with Academy Partners in a number of different areas to support the growth and quality of their Academy training programme. The Academy team will:

Advocacy and Communications

  1. Advocate globally for sustainable livelihoods training, the growth of the Academy Network and seek support for the Academy and its Partners, including representing the Academy Network to policy-makers, donors, researchers and other stakeholders;
  2. Grow awareness of the work of the Academy Network and its Partners through events, publications, newsletters, and traditional/social media;
  3. Maintain and further develop the online community for the Academy to support communication between the Academy and Partners and sharing of materials, resources and opportunities;

Curriculum and training materials

  1. Continue to work towards growing the curriculum and training materials, research, eLearning, growing the Academy Network, and the number of smallholders reached by Academy training programmes globally;
  2. Share the existing Academy Training Guides, materials and resources with the Academy Partners and improvements and revisions as these become available;
  3. Have a flexible approach on how the Academy Training Guides and materials can be used by Partners (with guidance provided by the Academy) to further the cause of sustainable livelihoods training for smallholders and work with Academy Partners for the contextualisation of Academy Training materials for their country/programme;

Technical assistance and learning

  1. Provide advice and technical support on starting and scaling up a high quality Academy training programme for smallholders;
  2. Facilitate sharing of experiences and learning across the Academy Network to enable Academy Partners to leverage the experiences of other Partners in the Academy Network through the Academy’s online community and events;

Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

  1. Share relevant cross-country research publications, evaluation findings and case studies;
  2. Provide monitoring and evaluation tools which can be used by Partners to evaluate Academy Training Programmes and provide basic advice and support on their use;
  3. Conduct an annual Academy Partner survey to collect data about Academy Training Programmes globally and the effectiveness of the Academy Team and disseminate the results to partners;
